Dynavap is one of the most advanced dry herb vaping products available in New Zealand. Whether you see it referred to as a dry herb vaporiser, a dry herb vape, or a thermal extraction device, one thing’s for sure: it’s a must-have for many members of the smoking community.
However, if you’ve never even heard of a Dynavap but are eager to learn what all the fuss is about, you’re in the right place. Read on to get all the latest goss on Dynavap to see if these dry herb vaporisers are right for you.
What Is Dynavap?
Dynavap is the brand name for a dry herb vaporiser that you can use with, as the name suggests, dry herb. The vaporiser will heat the dry herb with conduction or convection to produce a vapour. Unlike other products on the market, the Dynavap is smoke-free! They are also small, portable, and made in the United States before ending up here in little ol’ Aotearoa.
How Does the Dynavap Dry Herb Product Work?
There are no two ways about it – Dynavap looks complicated. But guess what? It’s not. These devices require minimal effort to use, and you’re bound to be surprised by how comfortable and straightforward they are compared to other products on the market.
Step 1: Assemble It
When you buy a Dynavap, the first step involves the assembly of the cap, stainless-steel tip, five O-rings, the M stem, and the M condenser. Use Dynawax to lubricate the O-rings and place three of them on the tip. The remaining two go on the condenser.
Place the smaller O-ring on the condenser’s inside double groove and the larger one on the end. You can then insert the condenser into the mouthpiece before finally putting on the tip. Once that’s done, all that’s left to do is put the cap on the tip and softly squeeze it firmly in place.
Step 2: Pack It
Now that your Dynavap is assembled, you can pack it! Remove the cap, load it full of dry herb up to the tip, and put the cap back on. If you have a Dynacoil, you’ll use a thick concentrate rather than dry herb.
Step 3: Choose a heating device
If you thought choosing a dry herb vaporiser was the hard part, now you’ve also got to choose a heating device! The most suitable are small butane torches, generally available as single, dual, and triple jet flames.
The most common are single flame torches, which are a recommendation for Dynavap Vapcaps. These provide pretty precise heat and reduce the risk of premature clicking. Premature clicking is when you heat the cap end of the Dynavap instead of the extraction zone, and the cap clicks before the herb reaches the appropriate vaporisation temperature.
Dual and triple-flame torches are preferred by many because they can work faster, are more powerful, and don’t usually use excessive fuel. They also work better in windy conditions.
Step 4: Heat It
With your Dynavap and torch at the ready, you can now heat it. Hold your Dynavap at a right angle to your torch, just above the flame. Heat the middle of the cap, rather than the end, and rotate the Dynvap as your herb heats. This ensures it heats evenly.
When you hear the Dynavap ‘click’, you can stop heating. You can then use it once you hear the second click.
How to Clean a Dynavap
In the same way that you might wrongly assume a Dynavap is hard to assemble, you’d be wrong to think it’s hard to clean! In fact, it’s one of the most straightforward vape products on the market to tinker with.
You simply need to take it apart, which you would now be familiar with after the assembly process. Remove the O-rings and hand clean all parts. Leave them to dry, then reassemble your device!
Regular maintenance can be crucial, so don’t forget to schedule it in. Otherwise, you run the risk of built-up herb residue that can interfere with the heating elements and even change the vapour flavour.
Do You Want to Use Concentrates and Wax?
The Dynavap is a dry herb vaporiser, but it doesn’t mean it’s not versatile to suit your other needs. If you want to use it as a concentrate vaporiser or dab pen, you simply need to use the Dynacoil adapter. The Dynavap by itself is not suitable for wax and concentrates.
